How many non-humans have you worked with before?

At this point - five.

My understanding is that you cannot share many details about them, but can you tell me at least what species they are?

Vampire, magi, and other.

My understanding of vampires is that they were once human, is that correct? They've been changed, elevated above where they started?

It depends on the vampire, I believe, but yes, that is my basic understanding.

And what of you? Are you fully human?

Well, I suppose it depends on your definition of human. Am I made of the same flesh, the same blood? Yes. However I am the owner of a sharper mind, and my body is more highly developed than most. I also have a sense of smell that borders, apparently, on legendary.

I'm used to humans with strange abilities. It doesn't make them more than human.

Did you use your abilities for anything when you back home?

Oh yes. I was ... am, a surgeon, a psychiatrist, musician, artist, chef, historian, mathematician.

How does a human go to that much school? Your lives are so short...

I was a prodigy, and I am a genius.

Naturally.

My brother would probably be amazed that you took such a limited amount of time and accomplished so much with it. When you have a longer life span, those things become less impressive. The same way that earning a degree in a year is more impressive than earning it in ten.

Yes, I can see how that would equate. I earned degrees in that amount of time, after all. Although I cannot believe it took you ten years to accomplish anything.

Most of my goals were in the long term. And, once, my brother all but destroyed my body. That took some time to recover.

I see ... you must have something of a contentious relationship with your brother, then.

What are your long term goals, if I might be so inquisitive?

It was foolish. I wanted to save my people.

There is nothing foolish in wanting to save what is yours, especially if that is people.

Well, unless you are going to kill a great deal many other people to do so.

Hm. Yes. That is exactly what I was planning to do.

I can see why your brother might have a problem with that.
