Perhaps forgiveness is not something they are searching for. Perhaps they only want power.

[Hannibal placed the tea cup in front of Tinya, along with the sandwiches.] Please, eat. You look thinner then you ought to.

[she takes the tea eagerly] I do? I guess that's probably not a big surprise.

I do not think we ever need to forgive them. We do, however, need a way to make them think that we do. It is the only way we can get them to let their guard down.

[Hannibal carefully nibbled one sandwich, and then sipped his tea. Dabbed at his face delicately.]

[she takes a neat little bite of her sandwich, chews, and swallows]

[Hannibal takes a solemn sip of tea, looking thoughtful.]

[and then giggles] I have no idea how my boyfriends are going to react to me acting like a good girl.

[she laughs brightly] They'd probably try to stage an intervention. [she sighs] I'll need to come up with an explanation. One they'll buy into.

[He puts another sandwich on her plate.]

Yeah. After what...happened in Realignment, I think they were both ready to tear the place to the ground. I had to act like it didn't bother me to keep them from doing something they'd regret.

[she takes another neat little bite out of her sandwich, chews, and swallows] Really? That could be really useful, especially for people who are new and submissives without contracts.

I believe we already have one - I will want to go out and inspect the property to see if it has everything it needs or if building an entirely new one would be more viable.

Oh. Him. I ran into him once when I first got here and he tried to tell me how I should see this as a "cultural exchange." [she rolls her eyes] Because that's exactly how you should handle someone who's freaking out because she thought she was dead and was zapped to a planet like this one.

[He snorted softly, before he looked at her for a long moment.] How are you dealing with it now?

Yeah. Condescending, annoying issues. He couldn't be that much older than I am, but he acted like I was a little kid.

[she smiles] Far better than they were when I first got here. I have my boyfriends, sometimes I sleep with Tomoe or Rip, too, I have a place of my own, and I'm trying to put together a cultural center for theater and other performing arts.

Still hate the SIN guards and I'm never going to forgive them for what happened at Realignment, but all in all, I'm good. How're you?

He has had ... from my understanding, a very traumatic childhood that forced him to grow up too quickly. I believe that he sees other people his age as immature, not understanding that they are more than the sum of their birthdays.

Now that ... sounds like a delightful idea.

I am much the same. Holding my own, and keeping my head low, considering all current events.

He's had a traumatic childhood, I had a traumatic childhood, you probably had a traumatic childhood and all of them made us who we are. Maybe that's part of what draws the forces that run this place to us out of all of the people in the multiverse. But that's no excuse to talk down to others.

I was hoping so? This place could use a little culture.

It's all pretty frustrating, but if there's one thing mother taught me, it was how to maintain grace under pressure.

[Hannibal just manages not to look amused at this.] You make a valid point, though. Shared trauma does not give one the right to superiority. [Being able to kill a man at a full run does.]
